A summer weekend in the Oxford Hills
The Oxford Hills are an easy place to slow down. Oliver's Outlook, our cedar log cabin in Norway, is about an hour from Portland and makes a good home base for a summer weekend.
On the water
The public boat launch and beach on Lake Pennesseewassee is four minutes from the cabin, with boat rentals just down the road. Long Lake, Crystal Lake, Bear Lake and Keoka Lake are all a few minutes further.
On the trails
Roberts Farm, ten minutes away, has miles of trails to explore. Noyes Mountain Preserve, Singepole Mountain, the Norway Rail Trail and Ordway Grove are all close by too.
Back at the cabin
In warmer months the volleyball net is up in the front yard, with badminton and whiffle ball too. Light the fire pit, fire up the grill out back, and end the day on the covered porch.

Oxford Plains Speedway is about 15 minutes away, Oxford Casino 20, and North Conway just under an hour. Visiting in early September? The Oxford County Fair is a ten minute drive.
